Advantages of Automatic Propane Delivery

When you choose Levco for Connecticut propane delivery, you get:
- Convenience. You do not need to keep checking the gauge and calling to schedule deliveries.
- Peace of mind. Never worry about running out of propane.
- Flexible pricing options. Pay the way that best fits your budget.
- Assurance. You can be confident that your tank is properly filled every time, even if you have unexpected usage.
- Accuracy. Our team and technology will be able to predict your propane usage.
- Monitoring and maintenance. We pay close attention to your tank to ensure it is functioning properly.
Tracking Your Propane Usage
We install propane tank monitors on all of our customers’ tanks to ensure timely deliveries. Adding a propane tank monitor provides another level of efficiency, safety, and convenience. Our system will alert us when your tank’s fuel level falls below a certain threshold, when it detects a rapid draw from your tank which sometimes indicates a problem, and when there is trouble reading the percentage of fuel left in the tank. Let us worry about your tank so you don’t have to!
Based on your historical usage, we can accurately predict when you are ready for your next propane delivery. For those that have unexpected usage (i.e. generators), our system takes that into account and alerts us to schedule deliveries more often to decrease the risk of run-outs.
Preparing for Your Propane Delivery
Think there is nothing you need to do to prepare for your propane delivery? Think again. Your role is as important as that of the delivery driver. Harsh winter elements like heavy snow, ice, and frigid temperatures can make it tougher for our delivery drivers to keep your tank full, but there are several things you can do to make your next delivery safe, efficient, and successful.
You can help our delivery drivers more easily access your propane valve by:
- Leaving gates open. Do you have a gate that a delivery driver needs to pass through to reach your propane tank? The gate should be unlocked, or someone should be home to grant access.
- Keeping pets under control. We want to keep both our drivers and your pets safe while we do our work. Please be sure your pets are secure on delivery day.
- Shoveling your driveway. Your driveway is often the best access point for the truck’s hose to reach your tank and fill valve. Therefore, make sure the driveway has been cleared of snow and ice. In the interest of safety – for your property, our personnel, and the truck – delivery drivers are trained to pass by dangerous locations. Remember that propane trucks are wider than a car and even an SUV. They are approximately 10 feet wide by 30 feet long, which is how much space that should be cleared.
- Applying salt to paths and driveways. Using salt, thoroughly de-ice the best path to your propane fill valve. This will decrease the risk of skidding and slipping for the delivery vehicle and the driver.
- Clearing a path to your propane fill valve. Many types of obstacles, including overgrown plants, snow, and yard clutter, can all make it tougher for our delivery driver to safely reach your tank. Delivery drivers should never have to clear a path themselves, so make sure they have a clear, unobstructed route to the tank. If they cannot safely access your fill pipe, they may not be able to complete the delivery.
- Marking your fill valve. Place a flag near the fill valve that can be seen in snowy conditions. This will both help our delivery drivers locate your tank as well as give you a clear idea of where to clear a path.
Protect Your Propane and Tank in the Cold
Propane, like all gases, contracts when cooled and expands when heated. During the frigid winter months, propane will contract, reducing the pressure in your tank and potentially affecting the efficiency of your propane-powered appliances. If the pressure becomes too low, your propane-powered appliances – including your furnace or boiler – may temporarily stop working altogether.
Keeping your propane tank at least 30% full at all times can help avoid any pressure or performance issues. The more propane in your tank, the more positive pressure. When you use our automatic Connecticut propane delivery service, we will remotely monitor your tank’s fuel level and work to ensure it never drops below 30%, especially in the winter months. If you still call for each delivery, you should not wait to request one when your fuel level nears or falls below 30%.
AutoPay and Budget Plans Make Managing Propane Costs Easy
Levco’s AutoPay plan is a paperless billing option that ensures your fuel and service bills are always paid on time. Enjoy the peace of mind of knowing you have one less billing task to worry about.
We recognize that propane expenses can be costly, especially as fuel usage spikes during the colder months. Our flexible, cost-friendly budget plans can help you avoid having to pay a sky-high winter fuel bill all at once. Instead, you’ll pay lower, estimated monthly amounts that anticipate fuel usage across twelve months. Everyone deserves access to reliable fuel, so we are happy to work with you to find a budget plan that works for you.
